Once again Riotvan is revolving. In charge of the latest sound ventilation on the label: Markus Gebauer aka New World. Leipzig connoisseurs will already have cherished his earlier works under the moniker Boytalk, but here he astounds with an EP that should be able to light up the new disco sky with his neon white new name. That very EP is called Night Stalker, and already the two first tracks fork out trumps with such an ease that your hips will loosen up and your heart will open in a twinkling. There is the opener “Stretching” featuring Jennifer Touch that weaves dreams from synthie planes, grabs a pointedly funky bass and has the congenially sighing Jennifer Touch blossom an eternal hook in its very middle. The following title track is refined by Miss Touch as well. Carefully stacked planes, sparkling melodies and unbounded reverb spaces make up the flavour carriers. The package is rounded off with the sledge dog rattling phantasm “Mirage” and a floor-standardised house variety of the title track from the Lauer smithy. The artwork originates with Gebauer himself who makes no pretence of the fact that he has a couple of Peter Saville sleeves in his vinyl cabinet
